So, its been two months since I've updated. Don't really know what stopped me. But this time I'm not going to make a pledge to start updating every week. I may try to shoot for once a month, but we'll see. Here is my attempt at an overview.
In June, Danny and I found an undeveloped block at one of our local crags. We have very, very slowly been cleaning the three routes on this small block. I've been (also very slowly) been working the first route. The pic. from the previous post was how I looked after the first day of cleaning. The depth of moss on this route was amazing! I did my best to not just wash the rock clean, but to only get the important holds.
The important thing for me is that this is done (in as far as I understand it) in a proper style. That means that the bolt anchors had to be hand drilled. This was a pain in the ass, but was well worth it. This also means that the route hasn't been topped at all. I'm willing to admit that my so called ethics are starting to wan. I hope that this isn't a sign of me just wanting the F A and just me loosing up a bit. If any climbers happen to read this, please just let me know what you think. I've been working this from the ground up, getting lowered back to the ground after every go.
I've put in a bunch of goes and haven't quiet unlocked the beta yet. But I had to take a few weeks off because I kept falling, not out of the right hand jam, but trying to move to the rattly finger lock. This is what it did to my hand.
That was only the beginning of the nastiness. It got much worse.
With this "gapping hand wound" I headed up to Squamish for a bouldering trip with Danny, and my friends Dave and Amy. I had moments where I actually managed to climb with some style
Or at least I tricked the camera into thinking that.
A few weeks later I actually went SURFING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well at least I tried. I managed to catch one wave and I was able to get up a couple of times. I'm looking to go back and try my hand again in a few weeks. I'm working on securing the funds for a thick ass wet suit and a board so I can practice all winter.
Lastly, I got back from Yosemite two weeks ago. I'm working on an article that I'm going to submit about my experiences and I'm willing to send it to anyone who is willing to proof read it. Plus I need a little push to get me to get over my self and finish writing the goddamn thing.
I made it through one episode of Law and Order and I'm on episode number two, so I'm out for now.

Yay! Something to read while I'm waiting to leave for work. That pic of your hand looked bad. Are you all healed now? And finally, send me that article. My boss has me editing everything that the department puts out, so I'm getting good at it. And I need something to do while I'm out on the floor that doesn't take up much space (as in I'm not allowed to do craft prep in front of patrons).
